First F2 Feature Race Win for Doohan 🥇 🇧🇪

Virtuosi Racing’s Jack Doohan has claimed his 3rd victory of the 2022 F2 season, claiming his first Feature Race Victory at Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday.

Sprint Race - P2

Doohan qualified P4 on Friday and began the reverse grid Sprint Race from P7.

The race advanced quickly, and not content to be outside the podium positions, Doohan decided enough was enough and breezed past Verschoor up into P3.

The Australia saved his best to last, swooping past Boschung for the second step on the podium at the end of the final lap.

The P2 finish marked Doohan’s 5th podium of his F2 rookie campaign.

Feature Race - P1

Starting from P4 in the Feature Race surged off the line and cleared Enzo Fittipaldi to take P2 into La Source.

Doohan stopped from P2 on Lap 10 and the earlier stop gave him a comfortable lead as the second-placed driver struggled to generate tyre temperature on pit exit.

His lead had been more than three seconds over Drugovich but after catching traffic in those that were yet to pit, it allowed him to close back up to Doohan within DRS range in the lead battle.

However, Doohan proved he had things under control out in front and pushed hard to take victory without a threat on the final lap.

The Virtuosi Racing Driver made his Race victory at Spa-Francorchamps look comfortable and his victory & 6th podium of the season lifted him up to 4th in the Championship.

“I’m stoked! Finally my first Feature Race win and for it to all come together like that this weekend, obviously not perfect, but P2 in the Sprint from P7 and P1 today from P4 is the most I could’ve asked for. I’m really happy. Now just eyes forward on the next two rounds and the remainder of the season.”

Doohan’s next round of the Formula 2 Championship will be at Zandvoort from September 4-6.
