F1 laps banked around Silverstone in FP1
Hi everyone,
What a fantastic opportunity it was to pilot the Alpine A524 F1 car around Silverstone for FP1 ~ committing and not lifting through Maggots and Becketts in a Formula One car is truly something else!
Thankfully, the weather stayed clear allowing us to bank plenty of laps, which I was super happy with, and we managed to get through a great programme. We ran a slightly different setup on each side of the garage to maximise the data on some test items.
I’m very grateful for the trust the team affords me in carrying out these sessions, and we made some great strides forward whilst eliminating some options that didn’t optimise our pace in qualifying trim, which reaffirms the direction for the cars moving forward and is very valuable to know.
Again, a massive thank you to the entire team, they’ve been fantastic in helping me get comfortable in the car, and I’m really looking forward to the next outing when this might be!
