Doohan P5 in Formula 2 Debut 🏁

Jack Doohan has made his Formula 2 debut with MP Motorsport at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Saudi Arabia, where he finished P11, P5, & P13.

Race 1 – Position 11

After a strong practice session, Doohan rolled out for Qualifying where he finished P16.

When the first race arrived, Doohan moved up 3 positions within the opening laps and the A
ussie sat in P13 for the majority of the race until he claimed a further 2 positions on Lap 14.

Doohan passed the chequered flag in P11, narrowly missing out on the Reverse Grid Pole Position for the second race.

Race 2 – Position 5

As the lights went out for Race 2, Doohan moved ahead 2 positions into P9 before the Safety Car was quickly called onto the track.

As the green flag waved on the Race restart, Doohan quickly surged through the field to move into P6 by Lap 14.

Unfortunately for Doohan, he dropped a position towards the later part of the race and t
he #11 crossed the line in P7, however, post race penalties promoted Doohan's result into P5.

Race 3 – Position 13

Doohan began the feature race on Sunday from his original qualifying position of P16.

The race was immediately red flagged after a massive incident on the opening lap.

Doohan returned to pit lane for a lengthy stoppage, where it was decided the Race would be shortened to 20 minutes plus one lap, with 1 mandatory pitstop.

The race resumed under a rolling start, where Doohan quickly skipped ahead into P13 before the red flag was waved for a second time which ended the race.

I'm pretty happy with my Formula 2 debut over the weekend. A better qualifying result on Friday would of improved our results, but overall it was a good effort on track. Looking forward to doing it all again in Abu Dhabi.
