Doohan Claims P3 in Hungary 🥉

Jack Doohan has finished P9, P13, & P3 at the fourth round of the Formula 3 Championship in Hungary.

Race 1 - Position 9

Doohan was impressive in qualifying, finishing in P3 to set up a second row start in the feature race on Sunday.

The Trident driver started in P10 for the opening race of the weekend, a result of reversing the Top 12 finishers in qualifying.

Doohan lost one position off the line, and stayed in P11 until Edgar dropped out of the race on Lap 8.

Later in the race, Vesti was another one to fall as the safety car was called onto the track and Doohan moved into P9.

On the restart, the Aussie found his way past Schumacher immediately but was unable to hold his position, and finished the race in P9.

Race 2 - Position 13

Doohan started from P4 for the second race on Saturday. The Trident Driver dropped two places in the opening turns of the race, but recovered to P5 by the end of the first lap.

As the race moved into the latter half, Doohan would start to experience mechanical issues as multiple cars moved past the Aussie.

Doohan would come home to finish in P13 - a disappointing end to the race to finish outside the points.

Race 3 - Position 3

The feature race on Sunday was delayed as rain fell across the Hungaroring, until the race began under a rolling start.

As the race got underway, Doohan was instantly pressured by Schumacher behind him in P4, but maintained advantage over his teammate as the safety car was deployed on the opening lap.

When the race resumed, Doohan pulled away from Schumacher behind as the track started to dry.

The Aussie moved within striking distance of the top two cars at stages, but was unable to progress past Hauger and Leclerc ahead.

On Lap 18, the safety car was recalled onto the track, and would lead the field for the remainder of the race until the chequered flag.

Doohan would cross the line in P3 and pick up his fourth podium of the season, advancing him to P2 in the Formula 3 Championship.

"It's a great feeling to finish P3 in the feature race of the weekend! We had some struggles through Race 2 on Saturday but we held strong and came out with a great result in the final race. We're in a really good position now, moving into P2 in the Championship. Thanks to Trident Team for all your hard work."
